“Villa” is the term generally used to describe your village residence.  This can be a one, two, three or even four bedroom dwelling that may form a part of a high or medium-rise complex, a terrace housing arrangement, be semi-detached or completely stand-alone depending on the nature of the development.  Villa’s are designed for active retirees who choose to live independently within the village environment.  Villas are sometimes also referred to as “Independent Living Units”. 

“Serviced Apartments” provide supported accommodation for residents who require some assistance with daily living.  These are generally one or two bedroom apartments, where services such as cleaning, laundry and assistance with daily living are offered.  Meals are provided in a dining room setting, although a small kitchenette is usually included within your apartment.   

“Resident Funded Village” is the term used for villages where residents ‘purchase’ their villa or apartment under one of a number of arrangements offered by the industry and also contribute to the capital infrastructure cost of the village and to the cost of ongoing management.  Residents’ combined funding results in facilities and services being available that would be beyond the reach of most individuals. 

“Communal Facilities” is the generic term for a wide range of amenities and services offered to residents.  Villages are vibrant communities of senior Australians with shared interest and a desire to live life to the full.  To serve this community, villages will provide a number of recreational, service and social facilities available to all residents.  Each village is different.
